Marvin Gelbart lives in Las Vegas, where he spends his spare time writing novels. It was after one of the reunions of our old hot rod club, the “Igniters of Culver City,” that I sat down and wrote the story of the “Igniters.”  I wrote this story to show how profound our friendships can be while a teenager and how deeply those friendships affect us throughout our lives.

It was the feedback from this book, where the people who read the Igniters, told of their tales and escapades of their senior year in high school, possibly one of the most important and decisive times in our lives, that I wrote a number of young adult novels.
